Hi Rahul,

Thanks for stopping by and leaving this comment. It's great to meet a fellow future consultant in this space.

I try not to use too much industry lingo and keep a layman's approach to Sales Performance Management (SPM), but sometimes it is difficult not to fall in this pattern, and this is a good reminder to be careful. A while ago I posted a quick glossary for some of the terms that keep coming up: http://leapcomp.com/2008/06/sales-performance-management-glossary.html I think that you are right when you say that some of the lingo is probably different between North America and India.

Many of the solutions I mention on this blog have their clients primarily in the US, but it is surprising to see how many of them are based in Europe, or are truly global players. Practique Associates (purchased by Merced Systems) is based in the UK and Excentive which I have also reviewed here is based in France. Other companies such as Callidus, Varicent and Xactly have offices worldwide. Many of these companies even have 'offshore' delivery teams in India.

You will find several of the reviews under the 'Quick Links' menu. What's very interesting in this space is that every incentive compensation solution has the same goal, and for this reason, the vendors fight a fierce battle to try to distinguish themselves for each other. Each vendor closely guards these 'competitive advantages' and are not thrilled at the idea that recordings of their solution could fall in the hands of their competition.

I would suggest to contact the SPM companies that you are curious about and maybe they would consider sharing additional information, screen captures or even perform a demo in real-time. Feel free to contact me at julien.dionne@opensymmetry.com if you have additional questions.

Regards,

Hi, This is Rahul Sawant, I am working as an intern with a consulting company which is owned by my unlce. Currently we service a lot of HR staffing and payroll stuff(not in detail as what these softwares can do) for a lot of reputed well known IT companies in Mumbai and Pune.
We have heard a lot about these softwares mainly from your website, but havnt got a chance to see the actual product or how it works. Given that we have no knowledge (in detail)about how this industry works(in US) its difficult for us to gauage the details and idioms that you refer in your blogs , however if you have any flash files/avi(not sure which format it is in) which show the working of software... that would help us understand how things work at your end of the globe.
Thanks
